Wish They'd Let Me Fall

On the day that I was born
the air was bitter cold
The snow erased the streets and the clouds flew low
or so I’ve been told
What was my hurry?
Did I hear some kind of call?
The angels pulled me out of the womb too soon
I wish they’d let me fall

We grew like the weeds
never dreaming of the day
that our cells would finally peak and our bodies sigh
then slide into decay
But back then we were fearless
No tower loomed too tall
The angels took us high and we just assumed
They’d never let us fall

Now the night is in my heart
And darkness fills my eyes
A ship can’t hold her course when the hurricane blows
no matter how she tries
So I turn toward the music
that I hear behind these walls
Do angels clear my path when my eyes can’t see?
I wish they’d let me fall

Behold

Behold

These walls have grown so thin
Not sure what universe I’m in
But this old gravity’s the same as it’s ever been
Not sure what universe I’m in

Sometime my heart beats so fast
Next breath might be my last
Don’t say you’ve never been afraid that the the best times are past
Sometimes your heart beats so fast

I dream of moonless streets
Night air that tastes so sweet
My friends are playing songs that I can’t repeat
beyond these moonless streets

I don’t know what you heard
I’m not a plane, I’m not  a bird
Just trying to have a little fun in this mean old world
I don’t know what you heard

The air is getting cold
Behold, behold, behold
I’ll name you one thing that’s worse than getting old
Behold, behold, behold
Behold, behold, behold....

Happens All the Time (Live)

Many many thanks to my dear longtime friend Pat Moran Ronaldson for the videography. This was the first performance of ours I've seen in like six years, and I'm pleasantly surprised how closely I resemble a working musician.
