As mentioned elsewhere, I passed my father's star sapphire ring on to my son John on his 27th birthday, and I took back the braided silver ring my college pal Mitch Rosen had made for me about forty years ago.
Time doing what it often does, I couldn't fit the silver ring on any finger other than my pinky, but that's OK. It does slip off easily, though, so I make sure to take it off and put in my dresser or nightstand at bedtime.
Well, while Teri was away in NY these past ten days, I mispaced the ring; I suspect that one of my cats may have batted it off my nightstand, though I can't prove it. I was a little bummed out, but since I had no doubt that it was somewhere in our house, I didn't stress. Though I wasn't looking forward to crawling around every nook and cranny of our not-neat house (Did I mention we have a number of cats?).
A few nights back, I dreamed that Teri had just returned, and she matter-of-factly picked up the ring and handed it to me. I was very pleased.
Last night, after we picked her up at the aiport and she and I were turning in, she picked up the ring from her bed-side and handed it to me. Matter-of-factly.
