We're in the midst of another spike of hot, bone-dry weather, which evokes for us East Bay folks memories of the Loma Prieta 'quake and the Oakland Hills fire (both October events during similar eerie weather anomalies).
But for all that, actually had an interesting day at work and then, best of all, got to come back home.

no more earthquakes or hill fires in east bay please not this October.... I remember both past two events all too well - owned a house in Oakland hills, it was one of the few left standing -- the ones to either side , across the street and up the hill burned to the ground...and the Loma Prieta.. my youngest brother left San Francisco to return to the East Bay and half an hour later the quake hit ... I heard the Bay Bridge was DOWN ... waiting for my brother to call (pre-cell) was a long wait.....
Drey, those were some VERY tough days. On the bright side, I have some really good stories about each which I oughta record...
Oh, if anyone should wonder, the beautiful primitive landscape painting is by maestro David Rubin (www.rubinarts.com).
